After about 1 million computer complications, many months, many temper tantrums, my little blog returns. Lots of great outdoor projects on the go but first, what I've been up to the last few months. Last October I did a major revamp of my office/workroom. I (by "I", I mean my wonderful father) painted over the dark blue that came with the house with a wheat gold leftover from our living room. The color wasn't working out for me and the destroyed rug was still exhibiting some funky unmentionable smell from the previous owners. Therefore, the first room to be repainted during our ownership to Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter. My hubby and brother installed dark bourbon bamboo flooring to match our bedroom.
My favorite piece is my twig chandelier DIY.
twig chandelier made from black 5 arm chandelier,
adding branches until I got the fullness I desired
2 drawer antique filing cabinet (gets all the bills off the floor)
Lack Ikea shelves installed on 1 wall with assorted vintage items and "junk" hiding baskets and trunks (Ikea's Byholma collection) I recovered my hardcover book collection with brown craft paper.
table made of black gas pipe(I also used this pipe for my drapery rod) with a custom cut piece of Carrara marble.
crazy Milo getting in for her closeup
antique farm door wall art, chippy grey glam
a great use for old Mason jars. picture terrariums!
Welcome to Oliver and Rust. New Here? Let's get you started....
Pillows are made here in house.
We put a lot of care into the colours you see on screen and detail in the listings. Please take your time and read about the pillow you love to make sure you get the perfect addition to your home.
The vintage pieces you see here are all sourced by shop owner Meg and if the word vintage appears in your listing it means it is an authentic older piece. Take a look at all the photos and the patina before we pack up your purchase to come to your doorstep.
It's the nature of the business around here with so much vintage, everything is FINAL SALE unless it's a pillow and our standard return policy applies.
** Shopping in our Thursday morning releases? **
They're a fun day and sometimes like the Olympic sport of vintage shopping. One person in the shop takes care of all of the shipping (because the others are with customers upstairs or hunting more vintage to make your house fantastic) and orders take time to pack so everything makes it to you in one piece.
Please be aware that sometimes your order isn't packed until Friday if it's been a busy day, and couriers don't pick up on the weekend. Your order tracking won't show movement until it leaves us. We promise to get it to you as quick as possible.
