On our fourth and fifth nights of our roadtrip we travelled through Savannah to Tybee Island. It is an island approx. 30 minutes from downtown Savannah and a completely different way of life. We stayed at a wonderful bed and breakfast named Surf Song. It was a relatively new b&b and the renovation was gorgeous. We haven't stayed in many smaller inns so it was a new experience for us. We both really enjoyed the feeling of being at "home" away from home. Late nights sitting on the porch drinking wine, listening to the palm trees rustle and heading indoors to make tea on the stove.
you climb these lovely walkways to the beach from the streets just like in the movies
the famous 46 foot tybee lighthouse. it was the tallest structure in Georgia.
SQUIRREL!
hanging out on the deck
our room at Surf Song
this is the fort across from the lighthouse. there were quite a few cats hanging out. this guy just wanted to pose with the sign.
the infamous southern live oak trees. seeing these trees made the whole trip worth it.
the first night we ate at AJ's Dockside Restaurant and this was the view from our picnic table of conch fritters as the sun went down. Just as the sun went down we got a glimspe of a school? of dolphins going by
the second night was at a very locals bar named Huc-a-Poos where we had some fantastic pizza
Thanks for coming along so far,
Last stop on this roadtrip of photos is The Old Luckett's Store and......
