Finally a Kitchen Reveal
The kitchen in our home is by no means large but is attached to very good proportioned dining room(which I really wanted). The layout is very good for a cooking kitchen but it needed a huge facelift. As soon as we looked at our future house in the initial walk through I thought, this would make a great white kitchen. The cupboards were solid oak and it took a lot of convincing that painting them was the right choice. All of that convincing took a few years but, here we are.
the painting had its own challenges ( I almost don't ever want to see another paint brush ever again) and I had a heck of a time going back and forth between countertop options. we finally decided on Absolute Black honed granite, and Carrara marble for the wine barrel island.
The paint colour is White Dove by Benjamin Moore. The kilim rug in front of the sink is from Pottery Barn.
the backsplash we installed is pine beadboard painted the same colour as the cupboards for a continuous flow. we removed the doors on the glassware cupboard and added glass shelving and lighting. It gives the small space a bit more of an open feeling.
the reason for the "FINALLY" in the title. our faucet took 2 1/2 months to come in from American Standard. we installed a single basin sink almost 11 inches deep. i love it!!
(also a sneak peek at some Christmas decor on the windowsill)
1/2 the kitchen painted. you can also see the crown moulding added to the tops of the cupboards. Milo's thoughts " what is going on in here? is this blanket for me to sleep on? maybe I can just get a snack out of the open cupboard and they won't notice"
Well, I hope you enjoyed my reveal. I would be happy to answer any painting your cupboards questions you may have, but I don't think you could talk me into helping.
Have a great day
