  • Christmas 2021 at Oliver and Rust

And just like that the Christmas season came flying into our radar like a bat out of....... well you know right where that bat came from. This year has flown by quicker than most. The difference in how we need to operate, the way I need to plan and buy has made all of this year into a complete...
  • We painted our wood floor.

We did it.  Oh yes we did. We painted our front hall wood floor and I am in love. Now, before we pitch fork the lady painting the wood floor, a little bit of back story to how this decision came to be. When we moved into our house we tore out the horrid broken peach tile flooring in our front h...
  • It's about time for some pillows right?! The fall collection

It's always a wonderful time when new pillows arrive at the store. Hard work has paid off.  Hours of washing, cutting, sewing, ironing, tagging are ready for their pretty moments in the store and eventually everyone's couch, bed or at my house monumental moments of fort building to get just t...
  • When cleaning becomes rearranging and... still on team open shelves.

It's inevitable for the home decor set that when you start to clean something, rearranging mild or severe becomes a part of the equation. We found leather Ralph Lauren chairs in serious need of love.  No rips or tears and in ...
  • Neutral pillows: adult teddy bears: you choose

It's that time again. Another load of pillows graces our shelves. I've washed, I've cut, I've sewn. The team has flipped, de threaded, ironed and tagged. This collection features mainly pillows made in house with a healthy sprinkling of vintage pillows recreated from vintage rugs in the best rec...

Blogging Since 2015

This blog is written by Meg and includes tales of the renovations/ decor changes of her home and the shop she owns in Fonthill, Ontario. It goes back many years, much before the shop was born. It is like one of those stacking dolls. It started with a couple of kids buying their forever home. It snowballed into renovations, which turned into garage shows and then a store. If you are new here, welcome! We are glad you stopped by.
