The 3-part grinder first guides the salt crystals into the mill, after which it is coarsely ground and finally ground completely fine. The Alexander Mills are tried and tested products that have been into market since 1977 and they meet high standards of quality and functionality.

This item is solid unlaquered brass and will show signs of aging with use that can be polished back to a shine if you so choose.

The salt grinder is an inch shorter than the pepper grinder, so distinguish between them by remembering that you should generally use less salt! (It also says salt on the side but is fairly subtle).

This is 100% my most asked about item on instagram so I am putting the answer here for you lovely shoppers. 

Does it actually work? Yes it does. These mills are made to be a great tool in the kitchen. I am a semi- serious at home chef and have been using mine for 6 years with no issue. We have sold 100's with no mechanical complaints or returns in that time. 

Will it hold up to high use or does it just look good on social media?

This is the answer I always give people. It is made of unlacquered brass and it WILL AGE. If you want it to stay perfectly new looking 1. it may not be the tool for you or 2. you will need to be willing to occasionally clean it. (I use the powder Barkeepers Friend about once a year but I let mine look used too). You alone know what kind of person you are whether you like things to patina or whether things need to look perfect all the time.

It's a great piece I use every single day in my home kitchen and I would recommend them to anyone. They're an investment, they work and they will look as fabulous as you want them to.
